Usually first snow falls during October in Hokkaido....
Finally this week first snow fell in Sapporo☃
Depending on locations, it could be sticking snow at this 3 consecutive holidays.
I recommend preventing cold insulation if you visit Hokkaido in this week...
So this time we introduce recommended spot of Hokkaido sightseeing in a long time!!
I went out on my day off for introducing to everyone, but…
Actually, it was not sunset, 10 am・・
It had been a long time since I went out, but it was dark outside.
But, No Problem! The place where I visited is enjoyable even rainy or snowy.
It is NIKKA distillery in Yoichi, which is made a historic whisky ◝(⁰▿⁰)◜
By the way, I used a car this time!
※Of course, drinking and driving is prohibited!!
It takes around 30 minutes from Otaru by car,
if you will visit Otaru, why don't you add to your plan going here ヾ(o✪v✪o)シ
It could have fun time even non drinker like my companion!!
It was huge site, and good to walk even raining.
You can tasting for free from the first building to be seen as soon as you enter,
but at a later…
There is a distillery tour with guide
who is explaining histories of distillery or how to distill whisky.
But there are good guide signs for distillery tour,
it seems no problem reading guide signs even without guided tour😊
↑This is for distillation.
I could see using direct coal-fire distillation in good time!
The fire was very strong, it could go not too close.
It was the place feeling heat even this season.
It's fine even if you couldn't see the scene due to poor timing!
Every places which is able to distillery tour have monitor,
you can receive a explanation by movie.
Not only Japanese, you can choose English, Chinese, or Korean.
Running time is only about 3 minutes,
it was more understandable than only texts!
↑Studying with watching movie…
The actual warehouse for storage whisky is dark, and smells alcohol.
It seems to inherit tradition, made me excited!
There were a lot of person taking a picture with this!
Please note that the aroma of whisky
and a smell amount of alcohol vapour exist in the air!
The house where the founder Taketsuru Masataka and Ms.Rita lived is well preserved.
Also, part of the interior is open to the public.
It can feel the founder's passion of whisky as the house is located close to distillery.
Because whole room is not opened,
you can imagine the life in those days by miniature.
In addition to a lot of having fun places like museum and office!
After tour,
come back to first building, and be able to taste these。
There are many kinds of whisky for paying in the museum,
but it can be enjoyed for free.
Which one will be your favorite?
As for driver, or under 20 years old,
you can drink apple juice and green tea freely.
The souvenir shop have fully contents also✨
As soon as I saw this chocolate, I took it to the counter and paid for it.
These chocolates with coffee beans were flavorful and sweet.
Package looked like oak would be also good for memory~😊
It's white chocolate only in this picture,
but there was milk chocolate flavor also!
For present to alcohol-lover,
it also can be recommended that miniature!
These coasters would be good souvenir for anyone!
Not only alcohol, there are many kinds of souvenir,
please check it out!
In Hokkaido, the water is delicious and that's why there are a lot of breweries.
You could have fun to distillery tour even if you don't enjoy drinking,
or you are under 20 years old, or cannot drink because of you have to drive.
